Off-peak travel can benefit your 'work and wallet'
Deciding to travel during off-peak seasons can save you money, according to the Association of British Travel Agents (Abta).A spokesperson for Abta has commented that travelling at quieter times in the year can benefit both your work and your wallet.
With people travelling all year round and low-fare, no-frills airlines offering rock bottom prices on air fares, travellers can benefit from deals that may spring up off-season.
City breaks are a great way to take advantage of the offers, Frances Tuke of Abta has said, especially if you care more about missing the crowds than you do about perfect weather, she added.
"People can travel when it's a slow time for holidays and really clean up," Ms Tuke added.
"If they are flexible about when they want to go away [it] can be good in terms of work, so if you want to go away during a [quieter] period of the year you know people will be in the office."
A great city break can be had in Venice, Ms Tuke commented, where the city's splendour attracts tourists all year round.
The Venice Carnival, the highlight of the Venetian calendar and characterised by its masquerades, balls and elaborate costumes takes places during January and February - a typically quiet period for travel and one of the cheapest times to go on holiday, according to Abta.
