Don't leave holiday bookings until last minute, Which? warns

Don't leave holiday bookings until last minute, Which? warns Leaving holiday bookings until the last minute is not necessarily the best way to save money, one source has pointed out.

Which? Holiday magazine researched the prices of three holidays over the course of a year and found that the best prices were available in August and September for the next year, with people prepared to book now able to save up to £1,000.

Which? Holiday editor Lorna Cowan said those who are able to be more flexible with dates and destinations may still save money with late deals, but that this may not work for others.

"For families wanting to get away next summer with specific destinations in mind, we recommend booking in the next month or so to avoid disappointment when it comes to availability and cost," she remarked.

In other holiday news, Travel Mole has reported that 73 per cent of British travellers think their fellow passengers have become more rude in recent times, with the overall state of the airline industry and an apparent decline in politeness in UK culture said to be to blame.

Some ten per cent of airline passengers said they think low-cost airlines and their seating policies have created a 'me first' culture, while eight per cent blame holidaymakers simply being more stressed in general.
