The Samsung G600: A phone that "keeps its promises"
In describing its new G600 phone, Samsung says "you won't need a separate camera". A bold claim - or is it?With a five-megapixel display, auto-focus and flash, the G600 certainly has the spec to back up the claims. What's more, the power it packs comes in a sleek package is instantly preferable to carrying a camera as well as a mobile on your travels.
Nevertheless, the G600 is not the first phone on the market to offer such photographic capability. The Nokia N95 and the Sony Ericsson K850i offered such features before the arrival of Samsung's new slider model.
Indeed, LetsGoMobile said that there are "minor points for improvement", such as the camera's performance in low-light conditions and the inability to operate the camera without sliding the camera open.
Despite such concerns, the reviewer described the phone as one "that is true to its promises".
Mobile Choice Magazine went one further, claiming that the slim design of the G600 - it is only 14.9 mm thick - sets it apart from its clunky competitors, with only a lack of 3G and less multimedia power losing points for the Samsung model.
Other features of the G600 include FM radio and a multi-format music player.
