Rumours abound on 16 GB iPhone

Those looking forward to clutching on to an iPhone this Christmas will be tantalised by rumours of a more powerful model hitting the market.

According to tech.co.uk, a poster on a forum, claiming to be an Apple employee, has put pictures of a 16 GB version of the sought-after handset online.

While the iPod touch, which shares a touch-screen interface with the iPhone, is packed with 16 GB of memory, the phone comes with only eight GB.

Not only will the rumours of more power whet the appetite of those itching to get their hands on Apple's latest offering, but they could also spell a price cut for the eight MB version, which is set to be released in the UK on November 9th.

However, not everyone is looking forward to the arrival of the iPhone in the UK with feverish anticipation.

Greenpeace has claimed that the phone contains toxic chemicals that could be harmful to the environment.
