Tips on the right Gladiator-style shoes offered

Gladiator shoes are one of the hottest fashion accessories this summer but while they may sizzle on the catwalk perfecting the look on the high street may prove more difficult.

Fortunately azstarnet.com style blogger Jennifer Sterba has offered some top tips on choosing the right pair and looking great.

She says women with thicker calves should opt for shoes with a thicker heel in order to balance out the proportions and draw attention away from the ankle strap.

Meanwhile slimmer women should go for the stiletto-style gladiators, of which there are many different varieties on the high street.

Perhaps the popularity of gladiator shoes really took off when Carrie Bradshaw wore a pair in the Sex and the City Movie, with high street stores now stocking their own, more affordable versions of her Dior sandals.

"These shoes are just what every woman needs for this summer's wardrobe," David Hacker, vice president of trend and colour for Kohl's, told Star Tribune.
