Siena and Florence 'top shoe-shopping destinations'

Siena and Florence have been named as top places to purchase shoes by a pair of style-conscious teenage travellers.

Isabel Deixel, from New York City, told the Dallas Morning News that she is "a shopaholic" when she goes on vacation and loves to seek out the latest shoe styles during her European holidays.

"In Florence, I got to buy these black, strappy heels by Annabella Club," the 13-year-old said. "I love them since they're from Italy, even though they're really uncomfortable."

Fellow teenager Emily Barkan said she hopes to travel to Rome soon to add some Italian handbags to the growing number of purses she has purchased abroad.

"I've got a purse collection, so I'd look for Italian ones," she explained.

The Times reported this week that the Palazzo Belmonte hotel - located within an 18th-century hunting lodge outside of Naples - is an ideal place to take a holiday if travel plans include a large group of family members, as it appeals to holidaymakers of all ages.
