Shoes 'can be comfy and cute'

Most women may think that, in choosing a stylish pair of shoes they are giving up any chance of comfort, but that is not necessarily the case, it has been claimed.

According to Gannett News Agency, it is possible to obtain footwear that is both cute and comfortable, as the markets converge in an attempt to make the latest high street fashions more manageable in everyday scenarios.

It is also the case that those suffering from various foot problems can ease their pain with the right pair of footwear, so long as they know what to go for.

Gannett, for instance, recommends close-toed shoes with arch support for those with heel pain, while recommending a wide shoe or sandal for people suffering with bunions. Anyone with Achilles' tendon pain should consider wearing low wedges, while people with swollen feet should go for Velcro instead of laces.

Meanwhile, a report, recently published in the journal of the American College of Sports Medicine, revealed that walking in flip-flops can cause aches and pains in the feet, legs and rest of the body.

According to podiatrists, the unassuming footwear is responsible for more health problems than even high heels.
