SATC Manolo Blahniks 'selling for double' on eBay

The blue Manolo Blahnik shoes that feature prominently in the Sex and the City film are selling for more than twice their original retail price on online auction site eBay, it has been reported.

According to Australia's Courier Mail newspaper, there are currently two pairs of shoes up for grabs identical to the ones Carrie Bradshaw owns in the Hollywood film.

Bidding for the two pairs of cobalt blue, jewel-encrusted high heels had reached $1,800 (£925) and $2,000 respectively on the international eBay site by midday today (June 13th).

The satin shoes are part of the Manolo Blahnik Fall Collection.

According to the official Manolo Blahnik website, the designer's spring and summer 2008 collection is inspired by his recent trip to Turkey.

He explained that he used the curving windows of the Hagia Sophia as a starting point for his current line of footwear, which incorporates a number of other creative elements.

The sole of one of the shoes in the current Manolo Blahnik collection is based on the structure of a teaspoon.
