Nixon told off for buying girly shoes

Sex And The City star Cynthia Nixon should perhaps make the most of the girly attire she is surrounded by for her role in the movie - because she has revealed that her partner is not interested in it at all.

Nixon, 42, has been dating girlfriend Christine Marinoni since her marriage to Danny Mozes ended in 2003 and confided that she is not remotely drawn to girly clothing - not even the shoes.

In news that would horrify the film's Manolo-loving star Carrie Bradshaw (played by Sarah Jessica Parker), the actress said that she was once reprimanded for attempting to get her to buck the trend.

"I bought her a pair of cowboy boots that were from a women's department, and she was like, 'Don't do this again'," Nixon admitted.

She also commented that she was glad to have been given the chance to play career girl Miranda Hobbes again, having missed the character when the television show ended in 2004.

Meanwhile, fellow SATC star Kristin Davis recently revealed that her parents did not watch her appearances in the show until her grandma died, as they didn't want her to be offended by the programme's raunchy nature, Female First reports.
