Ever fancied combining your footwear with your love for video games? No? Well at least now you have the choice.

Brand new on the ladies' shoes market are Gameboy boots, "for gamers on the go", according to Gizmodo.com.

The combination of 70s-style platforms and 90s-style gaming has created an unusual look. The Nintendo game console forms part of the design of the shoe by fitting into the heel of the clod-hopping platform.

One style that may attract lovers of the Pokemon franchise may go for the yellow shoe with wooden platform, which has a hole in the heel in which a small model of Pikachu sits waving out at passers by, while a matching Gameboy forms part of the shoe's soul.

A Telegraph report recently highlighted the problems caused by statement shoes.

Although they may shock or be awe-inspired, they are often difficult to walk in, such as Giuseppe Zanotti's designer platforms worn on the red carpet by the likes of Beyonce and Kylie.

For the Diablo Codys out there who find they don't need to make a huge statement with their footwear choices may like to opt for a nice pair of silver evening shoes, akin to the writer's pair that recently took the place of a $1 million (£490 million) pair on the Oscars' red carpet.
