Hudson in handbag heaven

Oscar winner and singer Jennifer Hudson has spoken to the Sunday Mirror magazine Celebs on Sunday about her delight at her role in the Sex And The City (SATC) Movie.

Hudson, 26, who plays Carrie Bradshaw's assistant Louise in the film, said that she was most thrilled with the actresses' costumes and accessories, saying she was "stunned" by the "heavenly" handbags.

"I'm a handbag girl, so I was just salivating. People would walk in with arms full of bags, just trying to decide which one my character should use that day, one more beautiful than the next," she said.

Apparently, Hudson was most taken with a Burberry sample, joking that she wanted it as part of her pay.

The singer shot to fame in the third series of American Idol, although she finished the competition in seventh place.

In November 2005 she won critical acclaim for her role as Effie White in the film Dreamgirls opposite Beyonce Knowles and in March 2007, she became the first African-American singer to grace the cover of Vogue magazine.

Her new album will be released this autumn and her song All Dressed Up in Love can be heard during the credits of the SATC Movie.
