High, colourful shoes 'the things to be seen in' this season
Autumn's collection of shoes is set to be both colourful and high, according to one fashion source. The Jamaica Gleaner recommends ladies should get used to vertiginous heels in bright colours as the new season approaches, although flats will still work with bold-print dresses.
"Get ready for some sexy, bright colours, seductive new shapes and unforgiving new heights - anything more than four inches will be the have-to-have at this time of year," the website enthuses.
In addition, the article suggests choosing bold patterns over plain colours, with fuchsia being a particularly high-fashion hue.
The site states that the contrast of glossy colour and patents will add an "80s bad-girl" appeal to designs later this year.
One dedicated follower of fashion, Victoria Beckham, appeared in Manchester recently to launch her new line of perfume.
She walked the purple carpet in a white dress designed to look like it had angel wings from the front, as well as glossy silver sandals.
The former Spice Girl once told interviewers that she favours skyscraper heels because they help her to concentrate and that she would go to the gym more regularly if it was not for the fact that she would have to wear flat shoes.
