Handbag bonanza at Oxfam will benefit world's poorest
Brace yourselves ladies - charity Oxfam is to hold an online handbag bonanza for one weekend only, starting from June 6th.As if this news isn't good enough, the items will all be designer handbags from big names such as Mulberry, Knomo and Russell & Bromley among others and prices will start at just £4.99.
Profits will all go towards Oxfam's efforts to tackle poverty around the world and new bags will be added every hour over the weekend in a bid to generate even more interest in the event.
The Great Big Handbag Bonanza will launch at midday and can be accessed at www.oxfam.org.uk/handbags.
Oxfam's online shop relaunched last week with over 75,000 unique donated items, including a wide range of vintage clothing and accessories and a collection from the new Oxfam Boutiques.
The charity also celebrated its 60th birthday in May and launched an appeal for the donation of more unwanted diamond jewellery.
Mulberry handbags are currently in demand as part of the trend for eco-friendly products - the brand has Made in Somerset stamped onto its most prestigious samples as it currently makes 60 per cent of its leather goods in the English county, reports the Telegraph.
