Film star launches ethical shoes
Star Wars and Mr Magorium's Wonder Emporium star Natalie Portman has broken into the designer shoes world, it has emerged. The actress released her range of shoes this month in collaboration with Te Casan; however these are shoes with an ethical twist.
Vegan Portman has delivered a range that is produced in humane conditions, with all of the actress's proceeds going to the Nature Conservancy, an organisation that works to protect fragile lands.
The shoes are also free of all animal products and are cruelty-free.
"As a vegan, it's been challenging finding designer shoes made of alternative materials," Portman said.
"This collection offers a great selection without compromising on quality or style."
One shoe style in the collection is the Pippa, a faux-patent red shoe with a Mary Jane heel.
Portman worked closely throughout the production process in order to maintain her high standards and to ensure "an exceptional style aesthetic", according to the Te Casan website.
Portman has not only delivered stunning shoes, but also stunning performances, resulting in her being nominated for an Academy Award and winning a Golden Globe.
