New York's Fashion Week has been taking place this week, showcasing the best of the world's new talent alongside the US designer heavyweights such as Michael Kors, Vera Wang and Diane Von Furstenberg.

When it comes to shoes, however, spectators are set to be wowed by London shoe designer Nicholas Kirkwood, according to the Telegraph.

The Vogue Italia accessories award winner who recently paired up with Swarovski for his most recent collection is sure to set the tone for this year's shoes.

Silver shoes are definitely in this season, as Kirkwood's collection demonstrates. His metallic mesh T-bar slingbacks are set to be a hit at the premier fashion event in New York this week, meaning that style-savvy ladies in the UK may want to be the first to get hold of some strappy silver shoes.

If silver isn't your thing, black satin maryjanes are also tipped to appear this week on the feet of Zac Posen models.

Other hot tips fresh off the New York catwalk include strapless dresses and a layered look, according to the Associated Press, while front-row stars were outdone by Padma Lakshmi who wore a Herve Leger bandage dress, the Telegraph reports.
