3,000 pairs of shoes soothe Celine's sole

If you're one of the many women in Britain who just can't shop buying shoes, then take comfort in the fact that you can't possibly be as bad as singer Celine Dion.

In an interview for ITV's This Morning, the singer admitted to owning an astonishing array of footwear amounting to around 3,000 pairs - a figure that would even put SATC's Carrie Bradshaw to shame.

The Canadian, who has a seven-year-old son named Rene-Charles, said that her hobbies are: "Shopping and golfing".

"I own between two and three thousand pairs of shoes," she added.

The singer, 40, also revealed that she would love to have more children, citing motherhood as her "most important role".

Ms Dion finished her mammoth five year spell at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas last December and is currently on her Taking Chances world tour.

She established herself in the US and UK in 1990 after the release of her album Unison and has since go on to score a string of hits, including Think Twice, It's All Coming Back To Me Now and the Titanic theme song My Heart Will Go On in 1997.

However, Ms Dion may be interested to know that she has some competition for the title of number one shoe addict - a Ukranian named Nikolay Belchenko revealed earlier this month that he owns over 10,000 pairs, a collection so large that it has forced him out of his flat, according to Russia Today.
