Simpson and Wentz in weekend wedding?

Ashlee Simpson could be poised to wed her fiance Pete Wentz in a secret ceremony this weekend, it has been alleged.

The couple got engaged last month, although they were not thought to have set a date for their nuptials.

However, rumours are now rife in Hollywood that the Outta My Head singer and her Fall Out Boy rocker have told close friends to keep this Saturday (May 17th) free of prior engagements.

A source is said to have told the stateside magazine US Weekly: "Proper invites have not been sent out but guests have been given a save the date notice. All guests will be transported in shuttles to the wedding location."

Simpson's people have been quick to play down the speculation, insisting that there is no news that the pair wish to confirm.

"This is a private matter. There is nothing to confirm," said a spokesperson.

Last month, Wentz spoke out angrily in an email to MTV in response to rumours that Simpson was pregnant, calling the speculation a "crazy witch hunt".

Meanwhile, earlier this month it was reported that Ashlee's sister Jessica could be about to marry her boyfriend Tony Romo, after a source told America's Star magazine that she gets jealous when her younger sister gets more attention.
