Posh joins cheap chic revolution
Former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham has given up shopping for designer luxuries in favour of hunting down a bargain. In an interview with the Sun newspaper, the fashionista - who recently launched her own range of designer dresses - claimed that her footballer hubby David hits the malls more than she does.
"I don't really go shopping any more - apart from the flea market I go to every Sunday. You can get some amazing vintage stuff there," she enthused, adding that her own creations are often inspired by the one-off pieces she finds there.
Posh also revealed that she has begun to work out at the gym, despite her previous hatred of flat footwear.
"Gordon Ramsay bought me trainers where you have a little chip so you can clock how far you're running," she remarked.
Beckham is not the only one to be turning to charity shops and flea markets in search of a bargain during the credit crunch.
Recent figures released by Charity Finance reported that charity shops have seen their profits increase by 7.4 per cent on last year's figures, bringing in over £100 million in total.
This is more than double the increase of 3.6 per cent seen last year, which was attributed to celebrity endorsement of second-hand clothing, as well as people being generally more frugal in order to cope with the rising cost of living.
