Luxury wedding planned for Salma

Luxury wedding planned for Salma Actress and producer Salma Hayek is to spend $3.5 million (£1.75 million) on her forthcoming wedding to French businessman Francois-Henri Pinault, it has been reported.

Sources are said to have told the National Enquirer magazine that Hayek - who is set to marry in France next spring - will spare no expense on her nuptials, treating her guests to luxury food and flying them to St Tropez on private jets.

The source said Pinault had tried to convince Hayek to marry him for a year before she agreed, so he wanted to give her a day to remember.

"Francois basically gave her the key to the vault and said, 'Go wild.' Salma has dreamed her whole life about a Cinderella wedding. The flower budget alone is almost a million dollars and the total food budget for food and alcohol is more than $1 million (£500,000)," the unnamed contact said.

Some 400 guests are expected to attend the wedding to witness Hayek marry, reportedly in a dress made by the same designer employed by Nicole Kidman, in a French chateau.

Hayek, star of films such as Frida and executive producer of TV series Ugly Betty, has a nine-month-old daughter named Valantina with Pinault and was recently honoured at the Women in Film Crystal+Lucy awards in America.
