J-Lo and Marc Anthony baptise their babies

Jennifer Lopez and husband Marc Anthony are reported to have had their twins Max and Emme baptised in a ceremony last weekend.

The singer, who has had a string of hits in the UK pop charts including Jenny from the Block and Waiting for Tonight, is said to have held the "intimate" ceremony at a church in her native New York.

A reception was then held at the couple's home, with guests including family members and close friends.

An unnamed source who is reported to be close to the couple said that the event was a great success.

"They didn't want it to be a big ceremony, so they only invited their very best friends and immediate family. Max and Emme didn't cry at all - they were really good, and Jennifer and Marc looked extremely proud," the source said.

Lopez was recently spotted on a night out with her husband, whom she married in 2004, looking remarkably svelte just two months after the birth of the twins.

The singer wore a bright yellow dress and towering white strappy sandals to visit New York's Waverly Inn, where she smiled happily for photographers, according to Gossip Girls.
