Geri Halliwell to marry in September

Former Spice Girl Geri Halliwell is getting married this year, it has emerged.

According to reports from the Daily Star, Halliwell, 35, is set to marry dancer Ivan Velez, whom she met on the Spice Girls reunion tour and whose nickname is Flipz.

The ceremony is set to take place in London's St Bride's church this September, which is the same month that supermodel Kate Moss is holding her own nuptials.

According to a source, Halliwell chose this particular venue because it is also know as the writer's church and she sees herself in the same vein as Samuel Pepys following the release of her children's book.

"Geri has a huge diamond and an even bigger grin on her face now that she and Ivan are marrying. It's been a whirlwind affair but when you know, you know and she doesn't care if she's criticised for being hasty," the source is alleged to have said.

Halliwell cause controversy recently, when it emerged that she had asked her friend David Walliams to read passages from the bible at her daughter's christening, but had altered them because she thought they would read better.

The singer is a famous former sufferer of the eating disorder bulimia, but recently admitted to having been an "exercise freak" and said that she will promote a healthy body image to her daughter, reports Glamour.
