Dodgy dress on the cards for Scarlett?

Fashion designer Stella McCartney is first off the starting blocks in the race to design Scarlett Johansson's wedding dress, it has been reported.

Johansson, 23, announced her forthcoming nuptials to fellow actor Ryan Reynolds last week, although they are not yet thought to have set a date.

Meanwhile, McCartney has said that she would love the chance to design the dress for the Lost in Translation star.

"I'm definitely doing her wedding dress. She doesn't know it yet," she told People.com.

However - and perhaps rather worryingly for Johansson - she joked that she may try something a little different if she does get the opportunity.

"[I may design] some kind of dodgy, black thing. Latex! Latex for Scarlett," she laughed, according to the entertainment website.

Johansson had been dating Reynolds for over a year when she announced her engagement and was promptly snapped wearing a diamond ring at a gala on May 5th.

Reynolds was unable to appear at the event due to filming commitments with Sandra Bullock.

He had previously been engaged to singer Alanis Morrisette, while Johansson has been romantically linked to her Black Dahlia co-star Josh Hartnett. Both couples split in 2006.

Johansson rose to fame in 1998 when she appeared in The Horse Whisperer and has since won critical acclaim for her roles in Ghost World and Girl with a Pearl Earring.
