Capital 'bored of Winehouse'
People in London have voted news stories relating to the antics of Amy Winehouse as the most boring of the summer, it has been revealed.A poll of 1,000 people by Rainier PR via social networking site Facebook found that 69 per cent of 35 to 49-year-olds were bored of hearing about the singer's relationship and drug problems.
Those aged 13 to 17 were found to be a little more tolerant of her behaviour, with only two in five finding her dull.
Meanwhile, 20 per cent of people said they were bored of speculation over the footballing future of Christiano Ronaldo - although women were more interested in reports of him and his shiny holiday shorts.
The credit crunch, however, was found to be interesting to 92 per cent of those surveyed.
Stephen Waddington, managing director of Rainier PR, said: "At a time when many people are watching the pennies, it's not surprising that the public have become tired of news about rock stars being odd and pampered celebrities holidaying in exotic locations.
"The fact that Amy Winehouse is seen as six times more boring than the economy this summer illustrates this perfectly."
According to reports from the Daily Mirror, Winehouse - who recently lost out on the chance to sing the new James Bond theme song to Alicia Keys and Jack White - is to sing about cooking and her childhood on her forthcoming album.
