Bonham-Carter steps out in springy heels
Eccentric actress Helena Bonham-Carter has been spotted stepping out in a pair of spring-heeled shoes that are designed to improve posture and reduce strain on the feet. The 42-year-old was photographed in the Z-CoiL Mary Janes, which are designed by former runner Alvaro Gallegos, who wanted shoes that would reduce injuries to his legs and feet during sports.
They are available from the US in 14 different styles, including formal shoes and trainers and feature a cushion under the ball of the foot, as well as a spring heel supported by a three inch steel coil.
A Z-CoiL spokesman said: "Much the way a car's steel frame supports its shock absorbers, this firm platform inside the shoe, in combination with the coil in the heel and thick cushioning in the forefoot, provides even better overall support for the foot."
Bonham-Carter, who is known for her unconventional way of dressing, wore hers with black and white striped tights.
According to the Daily Mail, she had been looking for a pair because she is "a big fan of shoes that give you some height with comfort".
Bonham-Carter is in a relationship with film producer Tim Burton and has appeared in many of his films, including Corpse Bride and the recent Sweeney Todd film, which also starred Johnny Depp.
