A hen party to remember for Coleen

Coleen McLoughlin has celebrated her remaining weeks as a single girl with a lavish party for friends and family, it has been reported.

According to the Mirror, McLoughlin spent a reported £20,000 on her hen night, which saw 24 ladies ferried from Liverpool to Manchester in a fleet of Mercedes.

The group, which included Wayne Rooney's mother and McLoughlin's mother, but no fellow Wags, pampered themselves in the Lowry Hotel's spa and then dined in the Presidential suite.

Four hours and several bottles of Cristal champagne later, the group emerged and headed to Panacea, a regular celebrity haunt, for more drinks and dancing.

The mother of the future groom drew admiring glances when she unveiled her new, seven stone lighter physique, while McLoughlin herself wore a blue one shouldered dress and strappy silver evening shoes.

A source told the Mirror: "The girls made sure they had a night to remember. They really let their hair down - but I suspect there might have been a few sore heads afterwards."

Rooney is thought to be planning a stag event on the party island of Ibiza, but he will have to wait until after May 21st - when Manchester United take on Chelsea in the European Cup Final - to do it, or risk the famous hair-dryer treatment from manager Alex Ferguson.
