007 in built-up shoe shocker
New Bond Daniel Craig has had to resort to wearing stacked heels during the filming of new movie the Quantam of Solace, it has been revealed.According to reports, co-star and Bond love interest Gemma Arterton was taller than Craig during the scenes when she had to wear evening dress shoes.
In a bid to improve the aesthetics of the movie, producers stepped in to add a few inches to 007's physique in order to elevate him to the lofty status usually associated with the secret agent.
"Daniel is 5ft 10in, but when they put me in heels I was taller than him and it didn't look good on screen. Daniel had to wear shoes with a lift in them and stacked heels for a few scenes - but he took it very well. He thought it was funny," Arterton commented.
Craig has been known to be touchy regarding his height in the past - he once refused to talk about his height with an interviewer after it was noticed that he is the only Bond not to break the six foot barrier.
However, he is not alone in choosing stacked heels as a height booster occasionally. Mick Jagger, French president Nicolas Sarkozy and Tom Cruise have all been pictured wearing them when out with their lofty other halves.
