It doesn’t look like the first outfit that a fashion conscious gal would reach for when looking to go out on the town.

In fact, it looks rather more like a creation of 1970s Dr Who than a piece of the cutting edge fashion that we have come to expect from the fashion designers of Rome.

According to Gianni Molaro, for he is a fashion designer, this is the Octopoob dress, a piece which is part octopus and part, who know what.

As might have been expected, the ‘dress’ was greeted with a mixed reception ranging from the dumbfounded to … the dumbfounded.

Overall though, it was original and admittedly provided a good few laughs.
