With the show schedule now confirmed and anticipation at fever pitch, London Fashion Week is almost upon us.
An impressive list of industry stars has been lined up including Stella McCartney, who is hosting a special presentation, whilst the likes of Anya Hindmarch, Belstaff, McQ and Moschino Cheap And Chic will be hawking their wares for the first time.
Also not to be missed is the BFC/Vogue Designer Fashion Fund winner Jonathan Saunders, as well as the NEWGEN designers on the catwalk.
Running alongside London fashion Week is the obligatory tradeshow exhibition which this year is situated across two floors rather than four which, the organisers say, will give greater focus and ‘create a more tailored and visually merchandised feel to the showcase.’ Or putting it another way, greater product sales.
Caroline Rush, Chief Executive of the British Fashion Council, said: “This season sees a newly curated style of The Exhibition at Somerset House. The new layout and format will offer press and buyers a much more edited selection of British talent, which in turn will help to bring more focus to the designers participating in the Exhibition and show visitors the best possible talent in the UK fashion industry.”
London Fashion Week (and Exhibition) runs from 17 to 21 February 2012.
